ERIC (EBSCOhost): Subject Terms

Subject terms are available in the following areas:

• • On the results list page, locate the Subject box in the left column. Click on boxes in front of subject terms and it will automatically update to limit them to your search.
     
    

• In the individual article record, click on a term in the list of Descriptors to run a new search for articles with the term

Some databases rely heavily upon using a "controlled vocabulary". What is this? It is considered the official list of words and phrases that are used to describe an article. How do you find these words? Use their Thesaurus, located at the top of each page:
