SPARK is the Institutional Repository (IR) for Bethel University's digital resources and digital commons for advancing the strategic objective of supporting open access to Bethel's scholarship.

SPARK (Scholarship, Publishing, Arts, Research, and Knowledge) is Bethel's open access digital commons repository.

This guide will explain what content SPARK hosts, its benefits, and its features. It will also explains how to submit content for publication.

SPARK is purpose-built to showcase academic work

  • It facilitates faculty's scholarly publishing by hosting academic journals, articles, awards, books, conference proceedings, and event posters.
  • It also hosts student scholarship including articles, awards, theses and dissertations, honors papers, presentations, & poetry.
  • Authors receive monthly statistical reports of downloads, abstract views, citation counts, and full text views. 
  • It mirrors the structure of Bethel’s unique academic departments and programs.
  • It advances knowledge by allowing open access for readers.

Bethel faculty, students, administrators, collegiate organizations, and committees are encouraged to participate in publishing their works.
