Locating Full Text Articles

Find out how to track down articles through the Library's databases, from a reference list, or through the Library's fast and free requesting system.

How do I get an article that is not available at/via the Bethel University Library?

If you have located the citation of an article in a research database or in a bibliography/reference list, but have discovered that the Bethel University Library does not subscribe to the journal in which the article is found, you will need to request a copy of this article from another library that does subscribe to it using the Library's interlibrary loan service.

From within a Research Database:

After you have clicked on the Check for Full Text link following a citation:

  • Within LibSearch, sign in to your Bethel account
  • In the article's record, locate the Get it from other locations section
  • Locate the Get a digital copy box
  • Click on Get It
  • Click on Send
  • You will be notified via email when the article is available for online retrieval

Via the Bethel University Library Webpage:

  • Locate the LibSearch search box
  • Click on Advanced Search
  • Sign in to your Bethel account (upper right corner)
  • Click on Bethel students, faculty, and staff
  • Login with your Bethel username and password
  • Place a search for the title of the article
  • Scroll through the results list to verify if the article is listed
  • If it is not, click on the Search beyond partner libraries link near the top of the page
  • If it is now listed, click on the Get it for me from other libraries link

  • Locate the Get it from other locations section
  • Locate the Get a digital copy box
  • Click on Get It
  • Click on Send
  • You will be notified via email when the article is available for online retrieval

    OR  (if applicable)
  • Locate the How to get it section
  • Click on Open Access Full Text Found via Unpaywall
