3D Services in Bethel University Library: Request a Print

This guide provides resources to learn about 3D printing and scanning and the services that the Library provides regarding these technologies.

Information

When you submit a file to us through the widget below, we will:

  • process the file and notify you of any problems we can detect,
  • estimate how much the printed object will cost
  • notify you by emails when you will be able to pick it up
  • Hold it at the Check Out Desk in the Bethel University Library.

The current cost is:

Cost Per Hour
Under 1 hour Free (5 item max.)
Between 1 - 2 hours $3.00
Each additional hour (to nearest half-hour) $1.00

Policies

Items printed on our consumer-level 3D printers may have small surface defects such as bumps or holes. These routine defects will not be cause for refund or lack of payment for the object. Also note that while our printers are very accurate, we will not guarantee any precise tolerances on fitting of multi-part objects.

All submissions are subject to approval based on scheduling and availability. We reserve the right to decline any print request for any reason.

Some objects (such as those with steep overhangs) require temporary support material to be printed. This material is easily removable; the user will be completely responsible for removing this material -- library staff will not remove support material.
