Bethel University Library: A Brief Guide for CAPS & GS Students

A great resource for becoming acquainted with the Bethel University Library!

Research & Instruction

Research Librarians are available for:  

  • Assistance with finding information   
  • Help with searching the Library's research databases
  • Assistance with using RefWorks (citation manager)
  • Assistance with citing information sources 
  • Individual research consultations

The Research Librarians serve as Library Liaisons to the various CAPS and GS programs.  You are welcome to contact your Librarian for assistance!


The Research Librarians have also created Research Guides to steer you toward the resources you will use most often.

For example:

Check Out / Basic Technology Assistance

The Check Out Desk is the service point for:

  • Checking materials out of the Bethel University Library
     
  • Picking up and checking out materials requested from other libraries
     
  • Checking out equipment such as:
    Computer accessories, headphones, voice and video recorders, digital cameras, etc.
    (See the Equipment link in this guide for a complete list)

     
  • Laminating posters and other items up to 24 inches wide
     
  • Assistance with basic computing, printing, photocopying, and scanning

Study Rooms

Group Study Rooms:

  • Group study rooms are available to accommodate groups of up to eight
  • Each room contains a white board

Individual Study Rooms:

  • Individual study rooms are available to accommodate up to two people
  • Some rooms have a VHS/DVD player

Study Room Reservations:

  • Reservations for these rooms must be made either:
    • At the Research Assistance Desk
    • By phone (651.638.6224)
                        OR
    • By online form 

Makerspace

Makerspace is available for:

  • Creating and editing media
  • Crafting
  • 3D modeling and printing
  • and more!

It is a flexible, creative place with tools and technology open to any Bethel student, faculty, or staff for hands-on learning, collaboration, and experimentation.

Hours and additional information

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan services are available if:

  • Books you need are not available in the Bethel University Library  
  • Articles from journals/magazines are not available via the Bethel University Library (either via research database or print subscriptions)

Mailing Services

Books may be mailed to Adult Undergraduate, Graduate, and Seminary students.  Check out the Mailing Services page for information about how this works.
