Bethel Seminary St. Paul Library : A Brief Guide for Faculty

Course Reserves

Faculty are welcome to put books on reserve for their courses. The available loan periods are 3 hours, 3 days, or 1 week. If you have any questions about course reserves, please contact the Circulation Desk.

Faculty may submit requests for course reserves using the online form.

Please note: Articles for class are put in your Moodle course.

Streaming Video

With Films on Demand, you can find lots of educational films for your courses with maximum flexibility. Use them in their entirety, or use the segment clips provided, each with its own web address or URL. Use them in your classroom or post them to your Moodle course. Another bonus is that a high percentage of these films have interactive transcripts and closed captioning for those with visual, hearing or learning disabilities.

Kanopy has more than 26,000 films in its collection - including leading producers such as Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, New Day Films, California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, PBS, BBC, First Run Features, The Video Project, Media Education Foundation, Documentary Education Resources.You can easily share films, create clips or teaching playlists, and embed them into the course system. Most films have closed captions and transcripts.

Feature Films for Education

The Feature Films for Education Collection offers hundreds of full-length feature films for educational instructional purposes. This collection focuses on both current and hard-to-find titles, including dramas, literary adaptations, blockbusters, classics, science fiction, environmental titles, foreign films, social issues, animation studies, Academy Award® winners, and more.

Interlibrary Loan

Bethel Seminary Library offers interlibrary loan (ILL) services to current students, faculty, and staff in order to provide access to materials for research and study which are not available in CLICsearch. Click here for more information on using interlibrary loan.
